Granderson is creator and host of the first LGBTQ-focused podcast for ABC News and has reported on the topics of sports, culture and politics since joining the network in 2015. There he covered the inauguration of President Trump, the U.S. Open, and the annual pride march in New York City, the largest in the country.
In 2016, the Emmy Award-winner was inducted into the National Lesbian and Gay Journalists Association Hall of Fame and his work has received recognition from every major LGBTQ+ organization in the nation.
Over his career, Granderson has worked at the Atlanta Journal-Constitution, The South Bend Tribune, and The Grand Rapids Press. While at ESPN, he also worked as a columnist and contributor for CNN, where he was part of that network’s coverage of the 2012 general election, the uprising in Ferguson and the funeral of Michael Brown.
He was a fellow at the Institute of Politics at the University of Chicago and the Hechinger Institute at Columbia University.
